If your relationship has broken down and you are having difficulties making arrangement's for your child/children court proceedings may not always be necessary and should be a last resort.

Avoiding Court

We will try to resolve any disputes about contact through negotiation or mediation. Sometimes a letter from a solicitor is enough to sort things out.

Court Proceedings

If court proceedings are necessary then we can prepare an application for you, any statements you are required to make and can arrange for experts reports if necessary such as DNA testing or medical reports. We will guide you through the court process and can arrange for your representation at any court hearings.

We have male and female solicitors. Therefore if you feel more comfortable discussing your matter with either a male or female solicitor please make the request when you call to book an appointment.

If you are acting for yourself we are happy to provide you with advice from time to time or to help you prepare documents to help you keep your costs to a minimum.

Our solicitors can act for parents or others whether making or defending an application and are experienced in all areas of child law including:

• Contact
• Parental responsibility
• Residence - to determine which parent the child should live with.
• Applications to determine a specific issue, such as which school the child should go to, whether the child/children's names can be changed, whether the child/children should be taken to live in another country etc.
• Applications to prevent a parent from doing something that would not be beneficial to the child/children(prohibited steps order)
